Almost in the middle of August, some of us realize that the end of summer is approaching. It is typical that we suddenly want to enjoy the heat and sun that we have left as much as possible, in addition to the fact that most people have vacations from work this month of the year.

Sitges, like all the beautiful coastal towns in Catalonia, is full of people and life. There are so many things to do that you don’t even know where to start. That is why we’ve created this list with the 4 best beach bars (in our opinion) to finish off this special time of the year.

To make this list we have based ourselves on some factors that we would consider when recommending to our clients. The main ones would be the accessibility, the distance from the center of Sitges (where most of our apartments are located) and, of course, the energy of the place!

1 – Crol Beach Club

Installed on the beach of l’Estanyol, this chiringuito-beach club has an exceptional location being so close to the urban center of Sitges but at the same time sufficiently far away. The water in this beach is always crystal clear and never too cold, and in addition to food and drink service, they also offer hammocks. Always accompanied by the best music, even with a DJ set from time to time!

A Sitges classic in one of its best-known coves, if not the most. Tourists, families from Sitges, visitors from the gay community, this beach bar welcomes anyone who wants to come. It offers all kinds of services including hammocks and is located in a beautiful cove not too far away, which also always has one of the best waters in Sitges.

1. The Gin Tub

The Gin Tub is our #1 favourite night-time spot for cocktails in Sitges. This fabulous joint has a 1920s speakeasy feel. It is unique in decoration, with a cast iron bath plonked right in the middle of the bar. It is a wonderfully buzzy place to spend an evening. They take time preparing the drinks. Specials such as the ‘bathtub gin’ is popular and uses aromatics and infusions to enhance the flavour. They usually have live music every night and have an open mic night on Thursdays. Whether it is live music or recorded, it will be loud; this is not the place for a quiet drink and a chat. But if you want a club feel in an attractive bar, this is the place to go. 2. Beirut Gardens ‘Els Jardins de Beyrouth.’

So, this is a little bit of a sneaky one as, technically, this is a restaurant. But you can pop along for a drink at any time too. It is one of our favourite places to share in Sitges, and it feels a bit like a secret hideaway for a chilled-out drink. Located in the private garden of the hotel Grand Sitges, Royal Rooms is a place to enjoy a relaxed drink away from the mayhem. They regularly have a pianist, and local singers are known to make appearances turning out various styles from love songs to tangos. Lots of attention gets poured into the cocktails, and the Mojito is possibly the best in Sitges. The mint comes freshly from their on-site garden.

3. The Piano Bar – El piano

What this little bar lacks in space, it makes up for in passion, spirit, and performance! A Sitges favourite, where the atmosphere is 100% contagious. The Cabaret singers give this place its edge giving performances worthy of awards. Beyond the scheduled entertainment, the music videos are an eclectic mix from Cher to the sound of music to Mamma Mia. If you enjoy a sing-along, this is your place especially for ‘Show Tunes Sunday’ from 22.30 – 01.00. It is not uncommon for the whole bar to be singing and dancing to famous show tunes. Fun, fun, fun and open every night during Summer!

4. Voramar

This little tavern deserves an award if only for standing still since 1956 while the rest of Sitges changed and grew. It has beautiful dark wood nautical-themed interiors and of course, fabulous sea views from its terrace. You might easily miss this gem if not guided towards it. Voramar is an excellent spot to start or end an evening out. They have a great cocktail list, with their own ‘Vora Vora’ cocktail being of local fame.

5. Vivero Beach Lounge & Restaurant

This terraced bar & restaurant is located just beside the cemetery on the left side of the church. One of the best spots in Sitges to have a sundowner drink.

They usually have a DJ playing chill-out sets or just good music playing over the speakers. As long as you promise to spend a minimum of 20 euros, you can stretch out on one of their sizeable Balinese beds. You might believe you have left land far behind.

A restaurant on the lower deck serves up a Mediterranean fare so that you can make a full night of it here.

6. Sky Bar, Hotel Mim

This spectacular rooftop offers 360º views of Sitges and the Mediterranean Sea. Elevated from the maddening crowd, this is a sanctuary to escape to and enjoy a drink with great music. A great place to let the sun go down and enjoy a drink from their extensive cocktail and wine menus. Every weekend during Summer, the resident DJs play a great mix of tunes allowing you to dance or chill out.

7. Factor VI

Another restaurant with a cocktail bar, this is one for those in the know. You don’t need to be dining here to come for a cocktail or two. With red velvet decor that brings a Moulin Rouge style glamour to the proceedings, this is a wonderful place for after dinner. Otto makes arguably the best Pornstar Martinis in the world, and the service is always fantastic. A great place for a romantic date or for a group of friends to enjoy cocktails and a good chat.

8. Tres Quarts

If you’re missing your local pub and the opportunity to watch some football or rugby matches, this place will fill that hole with a cozy, traditional interior and a friendly atmosphere this is a great place for a knees-up. Often serving craft beers from local brewer Wylie’s will scratch that itch too. Open till late, it is a fun, lively bar.

1. Queenz Dinner Show

Dinner, Cabaret Show & Drinks! It’s just hard to know what category to put Queenz Dinner Show in, and maybe it’s best that it stands alone.

One of the best nights out you will have in Sitges is at Queenz Dinner Show – a unique show of cabaret, drag, and comedy. This long-standing institution of Sitges has a new home, even better and bigger than before yet maintains its quality, hospitality & cosy atmosphere. The quality of the performing actors in the show is fantastic, with no shortage of talent when it comes to dancing & singing. Thoroughly entertaining. The food is also excellent and merits the rave reviews that it gets.

If you fancy dancing more after the show, Queenz Dance & Terrace Club (Carrer Bonaire)rocks all night until 6.00. Mondays are extremely popular as Lady Diamond leads the popular sing-along at midnight. Those attending the Dinner Show get a free drink upon entry to the nightclub.

2. Sin Street

Well, it is not actually named Sin Street, but that is what the locals call it!! It is Carrer Primer de Maig in the centre of Sitges, and it is lined with nightclubs and bars to satisfy all of your Sitges nightlife requirements. You can party here until the sun comes up, bar hopping and trying different clubs for their different music styles.

We personally like a dance in Bar Prisma and Las Vegas Sitges, but you will find many other options for your taste in music.
